with Victoria Lautman at the Neutra Office Building in Silver Lake. On
Saturday, February 8th, join Victoria for “Auto Design in LA:
History, Trends, Teaching, and the Future with renowned vehicle designer and artist
John Frye. How and why Los Angeles became a crucial hub for automotive design will
be just one aspect of the free-ranging discussion. John Frye graduated from Art
Center in 1996 and has been an integral part of Honda’s production design of
cars for the past 27 years and is currently their Principal Designer of R &
D.
VISUAL WORLD with Victoria Lautman explores the constructed
environment in its various forms: architecture, design, fashion, art,
landscape, or their intersections. A long-time cultural journalist, Lautman
has contributed to many newspapers and magazines, and hosted
long-running programs. In 2017 she published The Vanishing
Stepwells of India (Merrell, London), a groundbreaking book about the
little-known architectural marvels.
