THE SOCIETY OF ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIANS/SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAPTER (SAH/SCC)
The SAH/SCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing its members with opportunities to learn about and experience the rich architectural heritage of Southern California and beyond. Our volunteer Board creates engaging and informative tours, lectures, symposia, travel tours, and other events that explore the ideas behind the architecture - as well as the buildings that result from them. Our programs are the best-kept secrets in Southern California.
From Spanish Colonial to Craftsman, from Mediterranean Revival to Art Deco, from Victorian to Modern, we explore the diverse built environment in Southern California as well as the region's contribution to architectural history. We believe that education and awareness are a critical component of the preservation equation. We create events that are small in scale, but rich in experiential and intellectual capital. And we foster dialogue about the ideas that revolve around architecture.
Members receive discounts of 20-30% on ticket prices. They also receive advance notice of our events - which often sell out to members before they reach the public. Members also receive our bi-monthly e-news.
The SAH/SCC also creates free and accessible educational events for the public. We are the largest chapter of the National organization. 100% of our support comes from our local members. Join us now! Become a member!
