Inside the Lucy Wheeler Residence
Tour and Talk with Edward R. Bosley
Saturday, April 09, 2011
Join SAH/SCC on Saturday, April 9th, 2011, at 2PM at the Lucy Wheeler House (Charles Sumner Greene and Henry Mather Greene, 1905 & 1917) for a tour of the only surviving Greene and Greene residence within the city of Los Angeles. The tour will be followed by a salon featuring an informal talk with author, Gamble House Director, and SAH/SCC Advisory Board member, Edward R. Bosley. Learn how this special house fits into the legacy of the Greene brothers.
Lovingly restored by Martin E. Weil, a restoration architect and founding member of the Los Angeles Conservancy, this West Adams gem offers the opportunity to study an example of the Greene's work for clients of more modest means than their wealthy snowbird patrons of the Midwest. This event is provides an opportunity to experience architectural space and participate in thoughtful discussion about the Greene's work.
The Lucy Wheeler Residence is currently for sale and was recently profiled in the Los Angeles Times.
