Join SAH/SCC for a very special opportunity to see the Randell and Diane Roberts Residence (1989, Frank Israel). In addition to experiencing the architecture, experts Todd Gannon and Rob Rothblatt, AIA will be joined by Rafael Fontes for a panel discussion on the architect’s legacy and the construction of the home.
Todd Gannon is the author of the forthcoming book, Franklin Israel: A Life in Architecture (Getty Publications, 2025). Gannon is also professor of architecture at Ohio State University’s Knowlton School and the author of Reyner Banham and the Paradoxes of High Tech (Getty Publications, 2017).
Rob Rothblatt, AIA, long-time SAH/SCC Advisory Board member, worked on the project while employed in Frank Israel’s office. Rothblatt earned his M.Arch from Columbia University and has spent 30 years promoting the unending and limitless world of architectural ideas, our cultural imaginations and promoting progressive solutions.
The Roberts Residence was a remodeling project for a home originally designed in 1936. Israel designed a three- bedroom addition, converted existing garage, remodeled the kitchen, and renovated the rear patio in 1989. He also extended the dining room and kitchen in 1990.
